City Views #203: KWU Tower

Speaking of towers, here’s the famous KWU Tower which is located in the Siemens Technopark here in Mülheim. Today the ten-storey office building is just known as the Siemens Tower, KWU once stood for Kraftwerk Union which was a joint venture between Siemens and AEG in the nuclear power industry. It was built in the early 1970s and is still used today by Siemens as an office location. At night, the top of the building has a blue glowing ring, making it visible all over the city – in fact we can see it even in daylight from the street where we live in the winter when the trees are not in the way.
