For the 200th photo in the City Views series, here’s a famous landmark you can find on the west side of the Schlossbrücke: these are the Three Graces (“Drei Grazien”), a bronze statue which was designed by artist Heinrich Adolfs in 1963 and is actually called Lebensfreude (Joy for Life). It’s in sort of a rough shape and I apologize for showing the ladies from the back, but this perspective still makes a good photo. Here you can even see the top of the city hall’s tower peeking over the base of the statue.

I recorded this little video two days before the blimp was heavily damaged and almost completely destroyed in the huge storm we had on June 9th. This is not really high-quality and was just meant as an example how the blimp sounds when it’s flying overhead – you know it’s summer when you hear the familiar buzzing! I had no idea then that it would be the last chance I would get filming and photographing it :-(.

We picked this ten-centimeter cucumber today, and that means it’s finally time to open another photo series called Balcony Veggies before the backlog gets too big. I couldn’t think of a better title but I will put all the “produce” from the balconies in there, so there are going to be Strawberries, Cucumbers, Zucchini, Eggplants, Tomatoes, Chilis and Peppers in there, even if they’re not all vegetables in the strictest sense. Flowers of these plants still go into the Balcony Flowers category. This cucumber is the first big result except the strawberries, but others will follow soon! I also have some older photos to post, too, so I’m not going to number this series, that would be too chaotic :-).

The last photo of the Eurasian Jay that was visiting at the end of May. Here it was having a quick rest on the lawn after it was audibly harrassed by some smaller birds making sharp clicking noises :-).
