City Views #270: Inner City Roadworks 1

While looking for the source images of the previous photos in the City Views series, I stumbled upon some interesting other shots from the road works on Mülheim’s Friederich-Ebert-Strasse in April 2008. Back then, the rails from the tramway were put back into the Friederich-Ebert-Strasse, reversing the traffic routing that had first been introduced about one and a half decades previously to make the west end of the inner city more accessible. The new goal was to create a central station in front of the Kaufhof department store, but only a year after all this work the Kaufhof closed and effectively killed of the west end of the pedestrian zone.
