City Views #506: Walking Home 6

I have done this shot multiple times before, but if you are on the left pedestrian bridge crossing Mülheim’s Dickswall this is the view you get when you look to the East. If you continue driving in this direction long enough, you’ll end up in our neighbour city of Essen, but this is right in the heart of our town. The street going to the left is the beginning of the (in)famous Tourainer Ring that leads, among some other places, back to the shopping mall and even behind the railway station.

Sign of a Legend

A bit of vintage computer macro shenanigans – I peeled this metal sign off a spare C64 with a red-painted case. Ihis looks almost handmade, they sure don’t make ’em like this anymore! :-)

Balcony Flowers 2015 #666

The strange weed blossom that grows in the flowerbox near the house wall where nothing else really wants to grow… I have no idea what it is, but it’s still there even now!

City Views #505: Walking Home 5

Nothing much to tell about this photo except that it’s a thoroughly unexciting view of the pedestrian bridge crossing Mülheim’s Dickswall. In the background you can see the gap between the houses that leads up to the Muhrenkamp with the annoying set of stairs.

Some of the Chrysanthemum blossoms seemed to be hiding!

City Views #504: Walking Home 4

The famous pedestrian bridge going over Mülheim’s Dickswall – actually it’s one of a pair and this one in the East is the one we always use when we walk into the inner city. It was built in the mid-1970s together with the highrises and the first incarnation of the shopping mall. I’ve never taken a photo of it from this angle before, but you can see that it’s not a beauty – but at least it’s functional and saves a lot of walking!
